A Disgrace

HenrySiegmanThis post is more of a rant than an editorial, but seeing as I can hardly believe what I just heard I felt the need to do this.  No Henry Siegman, Israel is not the disgrace, you are.  No one is happy innocent civilians are being killed, but how dare you as a man ordained as an Orthodox Rabbi, portray yourself as a voice for the Jews.  You call on Israel to stop the killing as though they were the one’s who stopped it.  You call the U.S. hypocrites for not working with Hamas, the same organization killing the people you claim to be part of.  Would you have told the people in the Warsaw Ghetto to go easy on the Nazis too?  How come I never heard your name while Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists were blowing up Jewish families?  I guess you’ve taken your life experiences and come out a self-hating Jew. I can think of no other logical reason.  You’re a disgrace.

Welcome to a World where Terrorists Charge War Crimes

Pflpmayday2005When I read that Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad al-Maliki arrived in the Hague with the intent to make a case charging Israel with war crimes, I decided to read up more about the man appearing to the world as a defender of humanity. After all, the Palestinian Authority produces nothing but the highest quality individuals.  Sarcasm aside, here are the facts about the latest “humanitarian” to be produced in defense of the people in Gaza.

Riyad al-Maliki was a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine(PFLP).  The picture inserted in this post is its 2005 May Day poster.  Tells you a lot already.  The PFLP, al-Maliki’s faction,  supports a one-state solution,  which basically means it favors the destruction of the State of Israel. The PFLP has conducted terrorist attacks worldwide since 1968, but I’ll just show a few that took place since the year 2,000.

A suicide bomb in a pizzeria in the West Bank in February of 2002 killing 3 teenagers…CIVILIANS

A suicide bomb in a market in Netanya in May of the same year killing 3 Israelis….CIVILIANS

A suicide bomb in a bus station in Petach Tikvah on December 25, 2003 killing 4…CIVILIANS

A suicide bomb in a market in Tel-Aviv in November 2004 killing 3..CIVILIANS

There are plenty more to show but you get the point.    The world we live in today is so backwards when it comes to morality and decency, one might think if the Warsaw Ghetto uprising would have happened today the Jews would have been condemned for it.

Riyad al-Maliki, the latest Palestinian terrorist to put on a suit, is the man presenting the case against Israel.  To the world’s shame it is listening.  One day some of these people will look back and lament how they took the side of terrorists over a free and democratic country.  By then it may be too late.

Tisha B’Av and an Olympic fiasco

As the sun sets this Saturday, July 28, 2012, the we being the commemoration of the 9th day of the month of Av on the Jewish calendar.  This day, known as Tisha B’Av, is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar.  It commemorates the destruction of both Temples in Jerusalem and is widely recognized as the day used to remember those lost in the Holocaust when exact dates are not available.  The sadness of the day is in line with the feelings of despair caused by the attempted annihilation of the Jewish people by Adolph Hitler’s Nazi Germany.  This is going to be a short post designed to make a very powerful and important point.  On the eve of Tisha B’Av 1941, the Nazi killing machine signed into effect the “Final Solution” against the Jews.  On the eve of Tisha B’Av 1942, the Nazis ordered the beginning of deportations from the Warsaw Ghetto.  And on the eve of Tisha B’Av 2012 the OIC (Olympic International Committee) will not sanction just 1 minute of silence at the opening ceremonies for 11 Jewish people murdered at one of its previous events, the Munich Olympics.

Let me make something very clear.  I am by no means comparing the decision makers of the OIC to the evil murderous thugs of Nazi Germany.  However, the message this sends to me is that 70 years later Jewish lives still do not hold value to many out there, and subsequently what I do on this site and what many reading do in their lives carries a great responsibility and importance to Jewish people worldwide.  We must never forget, and in doing so do whatever possible to make sure the world never forgets.
