The phrase “Never Again” is not spoken merely to remember the Holocaust, it is spoken to motivate us to do whatever it takes to make sure another one never happens again.
The forces of evil are at work again and we must all realize that the threat we face today is dangerous and very real. We all must do our part, however small, to work together towards a safe and secure future.
We are all in this together.

I am not alone in being someone who has called for Muslims to take action or truly speak out against their fellow Muslims who have chosen to be extremists or terrorists. For those who do not know, as a special occurrence is about to take place in Oslo, Norway, I first bring to you Yousef Assidiq, a man who is truly doing his part to save civilization, and whose Facebook page I “Liked” before writing this article.
Yousef Assidiq is one of the leaders of a group of young Muslims in Norway planning to form a ring of protection around a synagogue in Oslo. Assidiq made the following statement:
“I want to say on Saturday that if anyone wants to attack Jews either verbally or physically, that they will have to go through me first. An attack on Jews is an attack on me and on all Muslims.”
I have often said that it is not enough for Muslims to sit back and claim they are against terrorism in their ranks but do nothing to actively oppose it. There never seems to be a shortage of Muslims taking to the streets to protest against Israel, but when ISIS beheads someone or burns people alive and Muslim terrorists go on shooting rampages in Paris and Copenhagen, we don’t see mass protesting like we do when Israel defends itself against Hamas, an organization not that much unlike ISIS. So for Yousef Assidiq and his friends to stand up and take real action in defense of innocent Jews in Norway, we all need to show support, show gratitude, and realize that he and others in his group are the types of brave people the world needs more of if civilization is to survive.
And then there is 17-year-old Hajrad Arshad, one of the main organizers who made the following statement on Norwegian television.
“We think that after the terrorist attacks in Copenhagen, it is the perfect time for us Muslims to distance ourselves from the harassment of Jews that is happening.”
Sadly I don’t get many opportunities to make posts like this, but it is incumbent on us to not only recognize it, but strongly support it, for these young heroes may hold the key to everyone’s future. They are putting what is right in front of their own personal safety, and for that I hope everyone joins me in saying thank you and God bless you.

Dear Shirley,
Your recent comments regarding the 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust in Europe were so ridiculous I originally chose to ignore them, but sadly like so many other idiots today you have an audience that actually cares what you say. Therefore I am left with no other choice other than to address your most recent public display of insanity.
You asked the following question. “What if most Holocaust victims were balancing their karma from ages before?” I keep looking at this thinking I must be in some kind of twilight zone. I won’t waste words asking you if you are out of your mind since the evidence supporting this is clear, but I will ask you this question. How dare you? These weren’t 6 million fighting soldiers killed. These were regular people. Innocent people. Not just young strong men but the elderly, the sick, women and children. My mother worked as a nurse in a Jewish hospital in Amsterdam and watched as the Nazis took sick people on gurneys and transported them to gas chambers. Do you honestly believe that any decent force in the universe would cause this to happen as a means of balancing out karma?
Would you like to hear my theory? Besides the fact that you are just plain bat-shit crazy, you are so distressed over your own life, so angry over wrongs you felt done to you over the years, and so scared to go after the bad people, that you decided to do what all modern-day cowards with deep inner pain and an audience do. You went after the Jews. Let’s be real here. Despite the claims people like you might make about the barbarism of the Jews and the government of Israel, your life is not in danger even after you desecrated the memory of 6 million murdered Jewish souls. It is this understanding that emboldens fools such as yourself. The knowledge that you can say anything to the Jews and not put your life in danger is what makes you “brave”. Quite frankly, I am proud that we are like that and hope it never changes. I also hold no hope that people such as yourself will ever understand that very fact about our nature proves how wrong you are about your karma theory.
In closing I have this piece of advice. Either seek mental help or change your therapist, for whatever you are doing now isn’t working and the more you speak the more all sane people realize how out of your mind you truly are. Either that or you are actually a reincarnation of a buffoon. Regardless, in the meantime it would be great if you would just shut up.

I am not naive. I realize that the reasons people are showing opposition to Benjamin Netanyahu’s scheduled speech to the U.S. Congress are at least partially based on an anti-Israel sentiment. That being said, I am somewhat pleased as to what has transpired. First of all, I am all for the concept of smoking out the enemy, so to speak. I don’t necessarily believe that those boycotting the speech are automatically the enemy of Israel, but if nothing else they are the enemy of common sense.
The most high-profile politician to state that he will not be attending the speech is Vice President Joseph Biden. Not that I ever saw him as a credible candidate anyway, but should he declare himself as running for president in 2016, it’s good to know that not only can Israel not count on him when needed, but that he didn’t even have the character to admit it openly and honestly. Biden’s reason for not attending the speech is “a scheduling conflict”. I guess when an administration has chosen to dumb it down for this long, why stop? No reason to stop insulting our intelligence now.
It just so happens that there is a solution to all of these so-called political maneuvers. That solution is rescheduling. The only thing not to be rescheduled should be the Israeli elections. As of now everything seems to be running in 2 week intervals, with the elections smack in the middle. Bibi’s speech is scheduled for March 3, Israel’s elections for March 17, and an outline for an agreement with Iran for March 31. If the president is sincere about all of these issues then the best solution is the following. Reschedule the target date for the proposal with Iran for one month later and reschedule Bibi’s speech for after the Israeli elections. In doing so it would appear as though everyone is getting what they want and the accusations of politics being injected into a crucial security issue can be dismissed. That would be great were it not for one very important factor. Politics is always part of the equation.
First of all, despite the fact that I, as a supporter of Benjamin Netanyahu appreciate Boehner pushing for the speech, I also am aware that he has spent most of his time over the past 6 years fighting this administration. Therefore it is clear that in circumventing the White House he gains satisfaction and at least in his mind some political gain. That being said, of all the important issues surrounding this matter, Boehner’s tactics are the least important, and the least dangerous. There are 2 other parties that are happy keeping things exactly as they are today and have far more impact on our future.
The first party that wants today’s status-quo to remain intact is the current President of the United States. Whether it is out of a Chamberlain-like mentality of appeasement or the extreme view some hold that this is some master plot to destroy the U.S. as we know it, the president seems to want to make a perceived nuclear deal with Iran part of his legacy. Common sense would dictate that it makes no sense to negotiate nuclear deals with a nation that not only sponsors worldwide terrorism but calls on the destruction of Israel and its allies in the west, but unfortunately the only way any of this makes some sense is if we believe those in charge are dangerously naive or that they have the very worst of intentions. Should the rescheduling take place, calling the Obama administration’s proverbial bluff, I have no doubt that we would find that when all is said and done this has very little to do with whether or not the American political structure impacted Israel’s elections. I am confident the opposition to the speech would remain.
The second party I see resisting a rescheduling of events is Iran. It makes more sense that Iran would prefer to keep Netanyahu in power than to see Israel run by a more liberal and pacifist government. No one in their right mind believes Iran is honest about their intentions, and should an Israeli government be elected that is willing to capitulate to Iran even in some fashion, Iran’s bluff would be called as well. Israel could have a government that would openly declare the willingness to do anything they want for peace, and Iran would still declare their desire to wipe Israel off the map. So with a more conservative Netanyahu-lead government, Iran can continue its international deception of being a country dedicated to peace.
Regardless of anything else that happens, the one thing all the hoopla surrounding the speech has given us is a clear picture of where everyone stands in future U.S. elections. Since Iran is a threat to American and Israeli security, I hope all those with a vote realize the larger statement being made by those putting a misguided policy ahead of what keeps all of us safe. That statement seems to be that sleeping with the enemy is more important than working with your friends. A very concerning and ultimately tragically dangerous approach.

“Is it time to lay the Holocaust to rest?” I would say “good question”, but in truth it is not a good question. It is not a wise question, nor a sincere question. It is a question that exhibits ignorance and hate and lack of understanding of the world as it is meant to be.
I do not know what connection you or your personal viewpoints have to this question tweeted by BBC’s;The Big Questions, but since it is produced by Mentorn Media and you are the Executive Chairman, it is you I will address regarding this matter.
Naturally, as a Jew, I am beyond offended. I am only in my 50s, so the fact that I never knew my grandparents nor my mother’s only brother and my father’s younger sister, should already indicate that this is not ancient history we are talking about. To be frank, even if it was ancient history I would find this question offensive. Should we put Passover to rest as well while we’re at it? After all, it WAS only Jews who were slaves in Egypt.
6 million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust. To make it easier for the small-minded people at the BBC to comprehend, that is the equivalent to filling up Wembley Stadium 66 times. The question is not an example of enlightenment through journalism, rather an irresponsible, ignorant, and quite honestly a disgraceful opening for a discussion that should not even be considered in the civilized world.
The very question is not much different from blatant Holocaust denial, a media tool perpetuated most significantly by the Iranian government, a regime that has expressed its desire to wipe Israel off the map, a process that would lead to almost the same amount of Jewish deaths. The question might as well be, “is it time to get rid of the Jews?”
Even from a non-Jewish perspective the question is offensive. It’s not as though we live in a world without evil. We still see people getting tortured, persecuted and murdered. Is it time to put slavery to rest? How about the Cambodian genocide? Or the Armenian genocide? For that matter we might as well put the Rwandan genocide to rest as well. After all, we would hate to get in the way of BBC’s quest for enlightenment.
Even without putting the Holocaust to rest the Jewish people face threats and challenges. If we put the Holocaust to rest it will lead to those acting as though it never happened, empowering those that wish to see it happen all over again. We as a person are not prepared to let that happen and nothing a staunchly Arab-influenced BBC does will change our resolve.
NEVER AGAIN is the motto many of us live by, and that is exactly the opposite of putting the Holocaust to rest. Get over it.

The “reason” given for President Obama’s refusal to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his upcoming visit to Washington is a policy stating that this president will not meet with a head of state during that country’s election year.
Of course to most this seems like more of an excuse than a reason, but be that as it may, the impact of the decision may be more beneficial to Netanyahu than Obama may have intended.
No one is blind to the fact that this president doesn’t particularly like Mr. Netanyahu and that this very same president seems to make a lot of policy not favoring Israel. Therefore being chummy with President Obama would likely do Prime Minister Netanyahu more harm than good politically. Therefore, it can only be surmised that this schism may actually help Mr. Netanyahu garnish the support he needs to remain Israel’s Prime Minister.
The tough thing about politics is that at this stage of the game we really don’t know what the intention is, and whether or not there is scheming going on behind the scenes. My guess is that if this does benefit Netanyahu it is purely an accidental by-product of an ugly disdain Obama has for him, but regardless of the intention, if it does help him, I for one am happy that it does. Therefore rather than being disappointed or angry that the President won’t meet with Netanyahu, I for one say thank you. Whether he wanted to or not, he may have helped someone who needs all the help he can get.

I must honestly say that I have never found you to be much use to anyone. I consider you divisive, self-serving, hypocritical and actually quite boring. I voted for Al Gore. I was distraught when George W. Bush ended up as the President and through those years I was unquestionably a Democrat. So this attack on you is not coming from a long time right-wing Conservative. This attack is coming from someone who has never liked you. I did not like you for attacking President George W. Bush at a time when supporting him was crucial. The difference between you and me, is that you had the gall to attack him after the 9/11 attacks, while I voted to reelect him based on his performance after the 9/11 attacks. Then again, I wasn’t trying to sell some crappy movie, you were.

I am not Islamophobic. I am also not a liberal pundit. I am however a Jewish American Zionist who is opposed to any extremism that leads to violence against innocents. I think there are those who are standing up and screaming for free speech that are indeed hypocrites. I do not however feel that they are the problem, nor do I believe that you are utilizing your time in the best manner possible by using this moment to expose their flaws. This letter you wrote is the first thing I have ever seen written by you. I do not know how much time you have spent on the more critical aspects of the global crisis we find ourselves in today. I accept and appreciate how devastated you were personally by the awful acts of terrorism in Paris. It is for this reason that I write to you with a degree of respect. However, I believe it is critical for you to understand Mehdi, that the entire narrative is generated by the vicious behavior of more than a few Muslims. And what I hope you realize, is that my making that statement does not make me Islamophobic. I would be happy to meet you, shake your hand, have a drink or lunch and have a nice conversation. I would look at it no differently than getting together with anyone else for the first time. You being a Muslim does not make me see you automatically as a threat or a problem. That would make me Islamophobic. Being honest about the reality of our world today, albeit harsh, does not.
How does this connect to your issues with what you call the Free Speech fundamentalists? Unfortunately it is very simple and very basic. They are not murdering anyone. They are not trying to stop people’s activities at all costs regardless of the carnage or loss of human life. I’ve seen very little of the product to come out of Charlie Hebdo. Why? Because it is irrelevant in what should be the discussion today? If I were to play devil’s advocate and say the creators of the product produced by Charlie Hebdo were and are offensive and disgusting, that would be a very minor infraction compared to murder. Making offensive cartoons is not a crime punishable by death. As you know and have stated.
You are fed up? So am I. I am fed up by those who believe that a proponent of free speech who verbally attacks those whose viewpoints they despise are considered to be against free speech themselves. That is hogwash. I write Open Letters, many a lot harsher than this one, all the time. Sometimes I am insulting, demeaning, and even downright nasty. But I have never threatened one person with physical harm nor do I ever encourage or belong to any organization that does encourage physical harm, even to those I know hate me just for being Jewish. Instead I exercise my free speech to expose them for what they are, and do my best to help encourage a verbal process that makes them shut up. But let’s be honest Mehdi, there is a lot more chance of this letter generating a threat against my safety than there is of your letter generating one against yours.
All actions have consequences and words have responses. If I attempt to drown your words either through my words or a process, I am not opposing free speech. Instead I am using my free speech to battle you in the appropriate and civilized manner. As I know you to believe as well, violence is neither an appropriate nor civilized manner in which to silence someone and someone who holds that same opinion is not a hypocrite just because in their expression of their free speech they say something we find ignorant or abhorrent. It just gives us the opportunity to oppose them in the same manner. Unless what they say promotes violence, in which case I think we would both agree they are not on our level.
Some of your points I believe to be valid and some points I disagree with vehemently, but I only truly take issue with what I consider is your moving the narrative in a wrong direction, and for that reason I hope you reconsider your approach.

I’ll get right to the point. As you spew your disgusting commentary and once again show your anti-Semitic ways by saying that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the origins of Islamist violence, let me remind you of what is actually one of the main origins of modern-day Islamist violence. The failed presidency of one James Earl Carter, Jr.
Back when Iran was in the midst of radical change, you did nothing. When Iran kidnapped more than 60 Americans in Tehran in 1979, you were powerless to get these hostages released. Your failures empowered the beginning of Iran’s worldwide Islamic revolution, a revolution based in violence and terror. To be quite frank Mr. Carter, Muslims should hate you for this as well. You set the stage for what has been nothing short of an ongoing catastrophic disaster. While Americans languished as hostages for 14 months, all you offered were reasons and excuses for why you did nothing. You failed the hostages, you failed your country, and you failed the world. Instead of owning up to your failings back then, you have chosen to once again fail everything that is sacred. Most of all the truth. I guess you feel that you would rather align yourself with terrorists today than admit to the world that you emboldened them.
It is rare that I am this disturbed when I write one of my Open Letters, and once again it is my respect for the United States, its government, and the office of the President that tempers my verbal attack on you, but make no mistake. It is not based on any respect I have for you, for I have none. Rumor has it that you are an intelligent man, so I can only assume your words come from cowardice and bigotry. Either way they are words many consider to be disgraceful coming from a former American president. You were an embarrassment to the office then, and you continue to be one today.
